Each year, the Canadian Family team participates in a Secret Santa gift exchange. There are only two rules: the price limit for each person is $10 and the gift must be handmade. And, not to toot our own horn or anything, but we’re a pretty crafty bunch, so there are some fabulous handmade treasures each year. There are also a fair number of edible gifts, as we’re big fans of baking, too. We bet at least one lucky staffer will be taking home a container of yummy Candy Cane Shortbread this year, thanks to this recipe from our friends at 20 Minute Supper Club.

With just a few simple ingredients, a festive tin and some tissue paper, you can whip together a beautiful homemade gift for hostesses, neighbours, babysitters—just about anyone! It’s thoughtful, tasty, and budget-friendly. Sign us up!

What you’ll need:
• Unsalted butter
• Granulated sugar
• Kosher salt
• Pure vanilla extract
• All-purpose flour
• Finely crushed candy canes

You’ll find the complete recipe and directions for this Candy Cane Shortbread over at 20 Minute Supper Club. For more great edible gift ideas, check out our collection of easy edible holiday gifts.
