If you’re all but certain that there is some kind of troll living within your dryer, eating single socks, you are not alone. It is a great mystery of the universe how we always seem to end up with one or two strays each laundry cycle. But rather than throwing those extra socks away, we suggest using them to decorate your home for the holidays with Sock Snowmen.
We spotted this great idea over at Then She Made, the website of crafty mama Amy. And can we just take a minute here to recognize how cute these are? Seriously.
This is a great project for kids and adults alike. It’s easy, it’s budget-friendly, and the result is something that you can display in your home all season long. Just imagine what a blast kids will have personalizing their own little snowman!
What you’ll need:
• White socks
• Colourful, decorative socks
• Rubber bands
• Twine/ribbon
• Buttons
• Something to make a nose (felt, kebab skewer, etc.)
• Glue gun
• Rice or beans to fill/add weight
You’ll find the complete instructions, as well as step-by-step photos, over at Then She Made. Looking for more holiday projects for the whole family? Check out these 9 holiday crafts you can make with your kids.
Made these with my kids – the eight-year old wasn’t too interested until he saw the first one! Used up all the spare white sox that were hanging around. Thanks for a great kid-friendly craft!
