Mornings can be a stressful time for parents and for kids. There is so much that needs to be done—eating breakfast, getting dressed, hair brushing, teeth brushing. And once all of that’s done, there’s still the matter of putting on the shoes, which always seems to take longer than any other morning task.
Knowing what a struggle it can be to get out the door on time, we had to share this great time-saving tip from a fellow parent who told us that, without fail, her daughter always put the left shoe on her right foot and the right shoe on her left foot.
With a permanent marker, write the first letter of your child’s first name on the inside of the left shoe, and then write the first letter of your child’s last name on the inside of the right shoe. This way, when your child lines up the two shoes and she sees her initials written out correctly when she peeks inside, she knows that she will be getting it right the first time.
It may save you a few minutes—or 10—each morning.
