Last week, we, like many others, were surprised by a story making its way around the web about a man in the U.S. who’d decided to go on a breast milk-only diet. In a nutshell, he and his wife had a freezer full of excess breast milk, which his wife had pumped after the birth of their daughter, and they needed to use it up. The man, who called himself “Curtis,” planned to chronicle his experience on his blog, called “Don’t Have a Cow, Man.” But it seems that the online community was not amused. Though some commenters offered Curtis their support, after only a few days of negative comments and all kinds of unexpected attention, the blog was removed.

Today, we were happy to discover that the story seems to have found a happy ending: ParentCentral.ca reports that the extra breast milk has been donated to a woman in California, who was in dire need of milk for her quadruplets—thanks to some help from Canadian breastfeeding advocate Emma Kwasnica, founder of Human Milk 4 Human Babies.

You can check out the full story here at ParentCentral.ca.

What do you think about this story? Are you glad that it ended this way? Do you think the negative feedback about the original experiment was fair?
