It’s hard to go wrong with anything personalized for kids these days, and The Book of Me app (for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad) is no exception. With this app, kids can create their own fully customizable avatar (right down to hair colour, eye colour and of course, their favourite colour) and then place it right smack in the middle of several interactive and educational stories. And don’t even get us started on the voice recording option, because there really is nothing cuter.
In The Book of Goodnight, girls and boys can become princesses, astronauts, superheroes or pirates. Not only is the story fun for everyone, it’s also a really great teaching tool about the importance of going to bed at night—and staying in bed until morning.
Similarly, The Book of Food teaches children important lessons about the four major food groups and stresses the concept of making healthy food choices. It even includes an x-ray machine to show muscles and calcium-rich bones.
Children will love The Book of Me because it’s fun to create the avatar and listen to their stories. Parents will love it because it’s educational without being preachy and is very user-friendly.
