We have to admit, it’s been a while since we indulged in a jumbo-sized slushy and all the brain freeze that comes with it. As kids, we loved watching the colourful slush spin round and round in those drink machines at our local convenience store—not to mention mixing flavours until we came up with something that looked vaguely like a wintery puddle of sludge (but it was our sludge, and it was delicious). But with this colourful summery recipe, we think slushies are about to make a big comeback.
We stumbled upon this great drink idea over at Half Baked, the blog of fabulous foodie Paula Hennig. It’s a snap to make and can be easily converted to a more adult-oriented drink with a splash of rum or vodka.
What you’ll need:
• Watermelon
• Ice Cubes
• Frozen lemonade concentrate
• Cold water
You’ll find the complete recipe over at Half Baked. If you’re feeling a little adventurous, toss some fresh strawberries or raspberries into the mix to switch up the flavours. Just watch out for the brain freeze!

I love this idea! The kids would love it too. I know it’s a healthy drink and not just another sugary juice. Thanks.
