Fact: Summer and watermelon go hand in hand, like peanut butter and jam, or Ikea and Allen keys. There’s just something about watermelon that makes it the perfect summer food—whether you’re enjoying a cool slice after a long day in the sun, snacking on a few watermelon skewers with dinner or sipping a refreshing glass of watermelon raspberry iced tea by the pool. When hot weather season rolls around, we can’t help but catch a little watermelon fever—which may explain why we love these “watermelon” fruit jellies so much!

Created by Paula over at Just My Delicious, these cute fruit jelly snacks are the perfect afternoon snack for kids or post-BBQ dessert. Plus, they’re super simple to make, which means you can spend less time in the kitchen and more time enjoying the sun!

What you’ll need:
• Limes
• Cherry Jell-O
• Nigella seeds

You’ll find the oh-so-simple directions for Watermelon Fruit Jellies on Paula’s site. The site itself is written in Polish, but you can use the Google Translate tool to the right of the post to convert it into English.

With only a few steps needed to create this colourful dessert, it’s a great summer recipe for little chefs. Not a fan of cherry Jell-O? Go ahead and substitute raspberry, strawberry or—you guessed it—watermelon. No matter which flavour you choose, this little summer snack is sure to be a big hit.
