Looking for a great summer date night idea? If you’re a music fan, you may want to check out one of the fab musical performances taking place at venues across the country, thanks to TD Bank Group.
The summer lineup of TD-sponsored music festivals kicked off on June 16th with the Winnipeg International Jazz Festival. TD is hoping that performances by musical greats like Aretha Franklin and Robert Plant will leave concert attendees feeling inspired. “Music is a creative expression that crosses all cultural lines and plays an important role for Canadians, both young and old,” said Mary-Ann Fratia, Coalition for Music Education Member of the Board of Directors, in a release. “We value companies like TD for sponsoring a number of major music festivals across the country and for supporting musical learning opportunities.”
You can visit the official website for more information and the full schedule of events.
WIN IT!
We at Canadian Family know how important date night is and how in some families date night can be a very rare occurrence. Our friends at TD know how important date night is too, and have given us a pair of tickets for one lucky Toronto-based reader (and a guest) to see the legendary Bootsy Collins on Saturday, July 2nd at the TD Toronto Jazz Festival. The tickets are valued at $100.

My ideal date is a picnic at sunset on the beach. Soft music playing in the background and dancing barefoot in the sand followed by a delicious snack from our basket, and a moonlit walk on the beach!
The less planning involved, the more enjoyable. A stroll through the local park whilst the sun is still shining, fish and chips and wine for dinner on the withered park bench, birds in the background and the smell of fresh flowers, then off to a live band, listening to the sounds that radiate throughout, with lyrics such as ‘vanish in our sleep’ allowing the perfect opportunity to reminisce and reflect on what we have.
Around downtown on a nice summer night, walking among the tall building and finding nice restaurants to sample different foods.
My ideal date would be a nice dinner, a walk downtown and an wonderful jazz concert of someone awesome like Bootsy Collins. (:
