As much as we might love to cover a wall in canvas and let kids splatter it with paint a la Jackson Pollock, some crafts are just better when carried out on a smaller scale. Or in this case, on an extra-small scale.
For kids who love to paint, this activity, shared by Sherry and Donna over at Irresistible Ideas, is sure to be a big hit. With a few common household items and a little paint, kids can create pocket-sized masterpieces in a snap—literally.
What you’ll need:
• A small, sturdy paper box
• White card stock
• Paint
• Brushes
• Elastic bands
The simple instructions—which you’ll find over on Donna and Sherry’s post about Snap Paintings—make this a great activity for wee ones, though we suspect older kids and even parents would enjoy making some snappy art of their own. This craft can get a bit messy, so be sure to choose paint that will easily wash off. Donna and Sherry also note that thinner elastic bands work better than the thick variety, as they have a lot more give and will be easier for tiny fingers to snap.
