When you need a little quiet time, it can be hard convince your kids they do too. So why not try a little bribery?
Keep their mouths and minds occupied with this gumball treat bag we found on 30 handmade days (which is packed with clever summer activity ideas for kids).
Apparently, all it takes is a poem, some gum, treat bags and a book and you’re on your way to a few serene moments.
To conjure up this creation, save the bookmark image and print it out (this would work best with a thicker paper so it doesn’t tear easily), then gather supplies to make the treat bag, including:
- 6” x 7” piece of fabric
- 2 1/2” x 2” piece of clear vinyl (look for small rolls in the remnant bin)
- 16” piece of ribbon
- Tape
For detailed sewing instructions, follow the rest of the tutorial here.
Once your treat bag is complete, stuff it with gumballs, then couple it with a new (or forgotten about) book.
