Product Recall: Britax “Blink” Umbrella Strollers

The recalled strollers were manufactured between May 2009 and September, and contain one of the following model numbers: U261813, U261814, U261815, U261816, U261817, U271813, U271817 and U271815.
Product: Britax “Blink” Umbrella Strollers
Description: All Britax “Blink” single umbrella strollers are included. The word “Blink” is printed on the metal frame below the hand grips on both sides. The recalled strollers were manufactured between May and September 2009 and the model numbers along with the manufacture date ( both located on a white label attached to the frame near the base of the stroller basket) are as follows:
• U261813
• U261814
• U261815
• U261816
• U261817
• U271813
• U271817
• U271815
Hazard: The hinge mechanism can potentially cause lacerations and amputations to a child’s fingers when the consumer is opening the stroller.
Time Period/Locations Sold: July 2009-February 2010 at Buy Buy Baby and other retailers nationwide in the U.S. and Canada and online at Amazon.com, BabiesRUs.com, Target.com and Diapers.com.
Reports of Incidents/Injuries related to the recalled product to either
Health Canada and/or the manufacturer: None.
Corrective Action: Cease using the strollers and contact Britax for free stroller hinge covers.
