Meet Computer Engineer Barbie
Barbie’s found two new career paths: computer engineer and TV news anchor!
After an international vote, Barbie’s new jobs beat out surgeon, environmentalist and architect to win the popular vote (Computer Engineer) and the girls’ vote (TV News Anchor.)
Computer engineer Barbie comes with a laptop, a bluetooth headset and a smart phone. A story from Wired reveals that:
Barbie designers say they worked with the Society of Women Engineers and the National Academy of Engineering to ensure that accessories, clothing and packaging were “realistic and representative of a real computer engineer.”
(This explains why Barbie’s usual heels have been replaced with sensible pink flats.)
No word yet on when the I Can Be… Barbies will be available in stores, but they are available for presale through the Barbie website.
