Our pal Andrew McMartin, executive director of the P.I.N.E. Project—an outdoor and environmental education initiative in Toronto—told us recently about the latest addition to the P.I.N.E. class schedule: outdoor education programs for home-schooled kids.
If your kids are in Toronto, and they’re either home-schooled or in a half-day program, these classes with Andrew are a great way to encourage a love and respect for the natural environment. Full day programs are available for older kids and teens.
In a small-class environment, kids will learn about ecology, sustainable living, nature and wildlife, indigenous craft making, survival skills, wild edibles, shelter construction, animal tracking, native plant gardening and so much more.
