You already know that breakfast is an essential part of your child’s day, but not every child has the luxury of coming to school on a full stomach. In fact, according to a 2007 survey, 41% of Toronto’s children start their school day without breakfast–and with the current economic downturn, this number is inevitably rising. Inspired to help? MOKA Designs, a children’s clothing store in Toronto, is holding a very special sale today and tomorrow. From 10 am to 8 pm, MOKA will donate 40% of all sales to the Toronto Foundation for Student Success (TFSS), a registered, non-profit organization that provides more than 90,000 children with breakfast, lunch, or snack programs in 500 schools every day.
Eating a hearty and balanced breakfast is important for so many reasons–it gives you energy, helps maintain a healthy body weight, and aids in your concentration throughout the day – and a hungry child will experience more difficulty flourishing in school. Scope out the selection at MOKO Designs, and you can came away with some fresh summer fashions and the knowledge that your money is going to a great cause–TFSS donates a full 100% of their donations to these food programs. We can’t think of a better way to kick off our summer shopping.
MOKO Designs is at 1448 Dundas St. W. (between Dufferin and Gladstone).
